Svetlana Ivanova as Cupid.

I’m going to write a little story/paragraph thing about Svetlana Ivanova. I remember seeing photos of her when I had just started ballet and I was searching for photos of Kirov/Mariinsky dancers and I thought she was so beautiful. Ever since I’ve always remembered her name, whereas most people I know have no idea who she is. She has a bright stage presence and of course GORGEOUS legs and feet and technique, although maybe she lets nerves get to her or she isn’t the strongest ballerina since she often gets injured/has small mishaps onstage, but when she doesn’t I think she is stunning and should be at least first soloist in Mariinsky. I saw her in Chopiniana in Baden-Baden and although she came off of pointe a couple times and looked perhaps a bit tired, she was very beautiful. It still makes me sad that she got injured right before her Giselle debut with Xander Parish and Osmolkina filled in. I wonder if she’ll get the chance again. Also seeing as she took some time off from the Mariinsky many years ago to work in Hamburg (I think it was), and I think that’s why she’s no higher than coryphèe. I could be wrong. She deserves more. Who knows with Fateyev.
OMG forgot to add that I asked for her autograph after, and she was so surprised because she just came out of the theatre hurriedly amidst all of us fans waiting for Somova/Shklyarov/Tereshkina etc, and I was the only one who knew who she was and she thanked me probably three times for asking for her signature and it was so adorable and it made me so happy :’)
FEEL FREE TO DELETE ^^ NOBODY PROBABLY CARES

OMG I REMEMBER THIS STORY ZACH YOU PROBABLY MADE HER WHOLE DAY!! :’)
